Basket Weave knitting stitch

I thought i would start posting knitting stitches for beginners.
Today its the Basket Weave Stitch. This is a combination of knit and purl - very easy and very effective.

The amount of stitches used has to be a multiple of 8 + 5

Row 1:(RS) k
Row 2: k5, *p3, k5; rep from *
Row 3: p5, *k3, p5; rep from *
Row 4: Rep Row 2
Row 5: k
Row 6: k1, *p3, k5; rep from *; end p3, k1
Row 7: p1, *k3, p5; rep from *; end k3, p1
Row 8: Rep Row 6

Abbreviations:
RS - right side
P - purl
K- knit
rep - repeat

Now heres a good TIP!
Slip the first stitch of every row regardless of what your pattern says.
This is how to knit a nice, finished edge on both sides of your work, instead of that bumpy edge you would normally get.
